    If you think tgps is the reason why you not making any money, then you may not have seen this:

    Almost 200 million downloads. If they looking for porn...they dont need to visit a xxx site in months.

                                                          Bearshare has good usability, but it's still a straight gnutella serv-ent. gnutella net gets less use and lacks the routing optimization of fasttrack protocol. a lot of their new features look like they are designed to cope with the lack.

                                                          distributed file sharing algorithms have evolved like crazy in the last couple of years... and a hot new p2p network will rise and smoke gnutella and fasttrack.

                                                                              Glad I wasn't just getting confused. Like I say - unless they changed it VERY recently kazaa lite simply has less but still has it. Seems there's some people on this board who really should learn how to check for and how to remove spyware/adware.

                                                                                  I think Kazaa helped some in the biz--personally, I got turned on to new porn sites from it just by searching for video files.

                                                                                  I know the BangBus trailers were all over it--though not most of the entire episodes. A LOT of those surfers were the early adopters for the site.

                                                                                  In fact, I think it is probably what launched that site and started the seed for it to grow bigtime.

                                                                                  You are always going to have people who want something for nothing, and others want the convience of paying for a site and it working.

                                                                                  I am a tad more concered about password hacking sites...

                                                                                      This will never ever matter. If by some chance Kazaa is shut down (doubt it) someone will take their place. The owner has already said that if he is forced to close he will simply move to a country where the laws can't be enforced.

                                                                                          At the end of the day no file sharing program can match the ease and convenience of a TGP for short clips/pics, and no TGP or file sharing program can give you the stuff a GOOD paysite offers. Conversions may be a little lower because of them both but it's just a matter of working harder/smarter and getting across just what the paysite can offer.

                                                                                          People spend far too much time bitching about the fact that conversions are lower rather than spending the time finding better ways to convert and getting more traffic.

I read something to that effect, where it really 'wasnt' spyware but they had to put a dummy file in there to trick the program.

                                                                                                          Kazaalite has no spyware. I ran an updated Ad-Aware scan right after I installed it, and there were no problems (and I'm talking about the old Kazaalite version).

                                                                                                          It's just that some of the computer newbs don't know how to properly use a firewall, download too many freeware, and get infested with spyware.

The really smart surfers signup for a good Newsgroup program and buy a good News Reader. Porn you want porn... Movies you want movies (and not just Porn Movies). Fuck you ain't seen shit. I was talking with one of the big guys in the Newsgroup business a week or so ago. Use 2 be like 15 newsgroups companies 5 big ones. Now it like 40 and 15 big ones. Just be glad there are not that many smart surfers out there and Most ISP's censor there Newsgroup feeds, like AOL does.

                                                                                                                      No - it's just that your program obviously didn't pick it up and you haven't a clue what you're talking about. And yes the adware was/is (again unless very recently changed) fully functional and will pop up the odd window.

                                                                                                                      A suggestion - get a clue and idea before spouting off and making yourself look a fool. You'll be happier for it.

                                                                                                                      Here's the thing - although many would rather not believe it especially newbies in this business who feel the need to give it all away for nothing, people don't as a rule do stuff for 'free'. There's exceptions but they're few and far between and even the majority of those when you look into them deeply have commercial reasons for being 'free'. It may be a shock to some but kazaa lite is no different. It has less spyware/adware (ie just the one program) but the guys doing it still want a slice of the pie albeit a smaller one.

                                                                                                                                  Savvy people know how to get porn for free, many popular messageboards have entire sections devoted to sharing site rips over FTP, swapping passwords, etc. Kazaa definately ain't on that list.
