I was going through my CD's and..

I was going through my collection of CD's, and for some, yet unknown, reason... I popped 'Appetite for Destruction' from Gnr in. Damn... this is good shit. LOL. I had to go and get me 12 beers so I could concentrate on work and music. Fun. I plan to listen to CD's I used to like years ago all night.
Next on line are:
Bodycount, the one with copkiller
Sepultura, Chaos AD
Pantera, Vulgar display of power and Cowboys from hell.

'Fucking hostile' rocks.

DAMN!

happy friday.

..and I'm off.

it's a bit dated but try out Rage for Order (Queensryche). one of the best cd's ever made. errr, if you're not big on Queensryche in general it won't be your thing, but it's in my top 5 fave disks.

nah i dig a little pantera too.

i just know the story.

Phil moved to new orleans and tried to adapt into the sludge core, thats when he started getting crunchy.

Acid Bath and Crowbar had been doing that and he tried to infiltrate a scene, and was successful.

but hes not from new orleans, and its definitely a new orleans style sludge core metal.

good, but somewhat more generic than the guys who simply played that way.

phil started singing like the singer from crowbar, its easy to see. compare them for yourself and as I said, look at the dates things were recorded.

their early stuff sunded like Poison or big hair metal, the guys in NOLA wer einto Black Sabbath and liked everythying dropped and slow.

So it became a new sound, Phil and co moved to NOLA and started trying to do it.

then some bands broke up and Acid Bath bass player died, so Phil contiued and even went on to Record Crowbar etc.

I dont jam it often, but i can tolerate Pantera "Cowboys, and Strength beyond Driven'

But if you like them youll LOOOOOOVE Crowbar.

look how tougher they look.

what matters is the music they ended up making.

and by the way, there are lots of other bands doin the same styles of music in other parts of the country and for that matter the world (thats not sayin a region isnt known for a particular style). That who did it first is juvenile ...

the bottom line is whos doin it the best and heaviest.
