Banner Design Contest

Here's the deal. We are http://www.sexpromote.com , We just started advertising on GFY - the biggest and best board
And we need 2 kick ass banners made right away.
1st banner Specs: 546x70
2nd banner Specs: 88x31

Prize for winner of 546x70 banner $75
Prize for winner of 88x31 banner $50

Winner will be announced Friday January 31st at 5pm EST and Paypal will be send immediately.

Exactly, now everytime someone needs something done there's going to be a "contest" over it, and the prize is getting paid for your work? Wow, if only every aspect of business was like this. Yes, exactly.. but there will still be designers who will willingly deliver their services only to lose. it makes no sense

The people who sell design services time is worth money. Why the fuck would they do something with out getting paid?

I wouldn't say the dumbest, I've seen a couple of these lately. They're not really contests unless the prize is substantially higher than what you'd normal pay for the service. I mean how desperate is a designer who would make a banner for a shot at $50?

Most skilled designers don't have time for contests with uncertain outcomes. That's why we have portfolios =) You should be able to get a good idea of someone's skill just by looking at their previous work. Please check out mine http://www.sexymojo.com/design

One of our full time designers I actually first saw on a post like this.... I think its a good way for new designers (the ones not making $75 bucks every time they piss) to get some exposure.....

For the amount of time it takes to make one banner hell its worth it if 100 people see your work.....if you are good it will definitely end up with other viewers contacting your for your portfolio etc....

hell if you enter a banner add a link to your portfolio with sample prices etc..... this post can work in everyones favor.
