$775.00 30 GB <--------------- believe me, you will not get this from anybody, that's over 20 dollars a gig. Plugin biz is rough, i was all gung ho about doing one then I started asking people about it, not so excited anymore.

"... it's based on the pricing for toon content.....not on real live feeds for which pricing is completely different....if you go to toon plugin providers you will notice that the pricing on flash is up to par and better than most toon providers out there.
As for the bandwidth toons doesnt drain as much and until you've demoed everything it's hard to really judge the pricing...

It all depends on what they're encoding bitrate is. If they're streaming in 20KB/sec you wont burn that 30 gigs as fast as you would with someone like me who streams in a bitrate 4 times as much.
Dont take this the wrong way as ive never seen their feeds and im quite sure they got some amazing stuff going on there (their site looks sick!)
To break the price down and say it is 20/gig or over isnt really fair because you're forgetting about the administrative aspect of it, which does carry an expense of its own although an overage price on their site would be nice.
Lets not forget about the cost involved in this. It isnt as simple as rippign a DVD and encoding it for streaming. This shit has to be animated by animators along with all the other flash technology involved which adds more additional costs to it.
There is a lot more overhead involved in the toon feeds which would justify that pricing.Last edited by notjoe; 01-30-2003, 04:54 AM.Comment
