    How may occurences of ' notepad.exe ' should be present in my windows folder ?
    Im running XP...

          How many have you got on your PC ?

                      So, I take it that out of the 50+ people who vied the thread...
                      That not one person knows the answer...
                      Or no ones bothered to take a look...

                      So, if no body's answered, or bothered to look...
                      then I take it, that it cant be that important ?

                      I suppose that if its not that important, then I shouldn't be worried either ?

                      I take it that everyone else has (approx) 470 instances
                      of 'notepad.exe' in their windows folders then ?

                      OK ! Cool...
                      Now I know its not unusual, I can get back to work

                          Is it an optical illusion? I don't see how you can have more than one instance of the same file name in the same folder.

                          is it
                          notepad.exe
                          notepad .exe
                          notepad .exe

                          or something like that? or is it in different folders?

                          the after effects of a nimda infection could cause something like this.

                              I have ' NOTEPAD.EXE ' in C:windows\
                              And also 'notepad.exe' in C:windows\system32\
                              I thought it seemed funny, but apprently, its correct...

                                  winnt\system32
