It made the industry look awful and exploitive.

But hopefully, 18 year old girls will see it and realize that they are not old enough to be in the biz. Had Bella been a bit older, I think she would've been able to stand up for herself alot more (i.e. leaving a situation where she felt uncomfortable).

What got me was Dr. Koop claiming that the industry was bad because it doesn't offer health care (must be a democart stance) and kept driving that home. So only the porn industry is not offering health care?? Shit in our town 50% of the small businesses that employee people don't, and those that are subcontractors don't for sure. What about a show showing the explotation of window and siding guys??

Also Sawyer was all about the sad side of the story. The mom that was shocked, the friend that felt sad, what did they all try to do?? Got in on the bandwagon of money!!

I watched that and was pissed that when the ratings are down, what does the media pick on? Porn. I have a journalist friend that really gets up set when they do this on TV and the paper.

Look on the positive side. It shows just how mainstream porn
has become and that there is public demand. Legal cases on consensus morality would be damn hard to win with those numbers. In fact someone should tape and archive shit like that. Let the media do the research. Those were some pretty large numbers and big names. Imagine issuing subpoenas for that??? I?d sure as hell try if my ass was on the block for illegal content.

Will there be continued regulation? Yes. How they plan on doing this I don?t know. It seems like the real pornsters are doing that themselves by creating networks, opening support venues and looking out for one another.

An interesting point our attorney made, and even the Primetime show made was that more poeple then any one realizes is viewing, knows someone, or purchases porn related products. So when it comes time for a jury he stated it would have to be one of his worst days not to find a jury to dismiss or be a hung jury (no pun intended) So the more they try to preach morality the dumber they look.

Exactly. You know 10 years ago porn was so underground and no one wanted to step up to the plate. Even the media worried about rantings. Today the media is more agressive and since we have hundreds of cable channels, someone is going to psuh the envelope and go for it.

Being in BDSM I know that the media has played a major role in bringing it into the public eye. Good or bad, it beocmes more mainstream and less threatening.
