The Most Annoying Spam of 2002!

Every person on the net has one thing in common. They all hate spam (unless they make money out of it! ) ! 2002 was a bumper year for these messages and now 30% of all mail flying around the net is thought to be spam.

So... here is a list of the top 10 most annoying spam messages sent across the net in the last 12 months.

    Free adult site passwords

    Low price drugs (Viagra)

    Refinance your mortgage

    Nigerian confidential money transfer

    Tiny remote control car

    Best online casino

    #1 Pasta pot

Get out of credit card debt

    Meet singles in your area

    Copy DVDs in one click

Unsurprisingly, top of the list were messages with a sexual theme.

It is believed that if the rate of spam increase continues the amount of spam will exceed normal e-mails by around July.

The amount of spam is definetly not going to go up. With all the new filters that ISPs are using, more and more people are dropping out of the game. Not only that, but new people really aren't getting into it because nowadays it takes alot of programming skill or alot of money to be able to mail effectively.

Maybe not the most annoying, but definitely the most ironic:

                  spamming me about anti-spam programs.

ISP filters is also to blame for so many legit emails dropping off the face of the earth...I would never trust my email in the hands of any filtering software or ISP filtering unless I had complete control over it. The only way to eliminate spam altogether would be to stop email from ever being used again. I firmly believe spamming problems have gotten worse than how they used to be even with all these filters flowing through the system.

The big problem isn't new little people, it's the big corporations that do it and get away with it because they can grease the palms of people working at major pipelines to ignore the complaints. Major ISPs also allow spams to run through their system provided a deal has been worked out with them previously....similar to how all the major ISPs with popup blocking block competitor popups for the surfer's benefit but conveniently anything they'll make money on still show up. But that's an entirely different topic altogether =)
