    What's bad about Jettis?

I'm looking for comments from people who use (or used to use) Jettis for 3rd party processing. We're looking at adding Jettis because we've heard a lot of good about them. Before we get into bed with them, we'd like to know if they snore or have cold feet. What don't you like about Jettis?

Please keep the tone constructive. I'm not trying to encourage people to bash Jettis, I just want to know their bad as well as their good points.

Their contract sucks. (make them pay for the paper, the printer ink, and the fax)
Last time I used them, you had to pay for their affiliate program. (Jumbo)
$750 visa fee, although the processors you are going to make the most money with are the ones charging it.

Other then that, they are very good. Good tech support, customer service, and their reports are very detalied too. There really isn't much bad to say about them at all IMHO.

We just spoke to them about 2 weeks ago and they never mentioned a Affilaite program that needed to be paid for. $750 Visa wasn't mentioned either, but after talking to about a dozen other CC's they seemd the sharpest and best at call backs.
I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.

Already did that, HS. Most of the posts about Jettis were rather vague. For example...

I was dealing with them last year, and had no real problems. I just went to one of our sites using Jettis, and I'll be damned if it does not say on the join page "You are purchasing a voucher with Jettis UK Ltd. for access to this site"

They asked for the $750, I said forget it. But it looks like they are still processing for me under the Jettis UK which I never new about.

As for the affiliate software, again, it was last year, but I think it cost quite a bit to have it set up.

            Maybe they have changed things.....

Sorry to jump in, but couldn't resist clarifying a couple of points...

We do require the $750 Visa fee up front, but are then netting that amount against your Jettis fee's, returning the money to you over time. And...the basic version of JUMBO does not have a fee associated. This did change in the past year.

Any other questions..hit us up at [email protected]!

                  Jettis is allright.

Our sites seem to convert better however when epoch is the primary cc processor...

pOOp... cause that's who's doing the processing. :-) Can you drop me an e. with your account details? I'd like to the registration process. [email protected] And BTW, the contract is painful, but we're hoping to ease that process shortly.

JimW... curious, do you mean conversions from click to sale or trial to full? Let me know and we'll have a look under the hood.

The team over at Jettis are a class act. Kjell Petredis has always bent over backwards to ensure that whatever customer service was needed happend quickly and effectively.

I am confident that you will see Jettis take more of a commanding presence in the community over the next 24 months. I firmly believe that if you choose to use Jettis you will be very happy and pleased with the level of service you will get from them.

I think Jettis, Epoch, and CCBill are the big 3 right now as far as customer service, longevity etc. in no particular order. Jettis has been around a long time as have the other two. I never had a problem with them, just this Jettis UK thang that is throwing me for a loop.

My thoughts exactly. With me dumping my unfaithful lover "Ibill" and getting engaged to my new girlfriend "Jettis" I would have put it a little more like this.

It is very reassuring that the worst comments about Jettis have been about the size of their contract. I've got the thing on my desk now and it is quite voluminous.

Has anyone implemented Jettis into a system that uses authentication from a database instead of .htpasswd files? If so, how difficult was it? Any pitfalls to beware of?

For those of you running your own affiliate software, how easy was it to integrate their stats (specifically the auto_txn) into your records?

How is their cross-sell program working for you?

Guys... thanks for the props, it's truly appreciated. In the early stages we focused on controlled growth and didn't throw our name out there to often, but are popping up more and more these days. ;-)

NetRodent... I'll let the others address your topics with the exception of cross-sell... This is currently in beta with full launch around the corner (likely next week)

                                  NetRodent:

It's usually possible to integrate with a 3rd party biller's password management system. Normally they will install a canned Perl script that will update your .htaccess file in the directory you tell them. However, the Perl script that is run when a user is added or removed can also update a database table, if modified properly.

Of course its *possible*, I've done it with other billing companies. Some were easy to integrate, while others were like passing a kidney stone. I was looking for comments from people who had specific experience working with the Jettis system.

Cogitator... I'm guessing you're the gent I just put in touch with one of our sales reps? :-)

Our software would function purely from a billing standpoint, meaning we do not track the usage of the customer. In the past, purchasing additional minutes was not exactly ideal (essentially Clients would need to post the customer data into the full form, customer would enter cc info and submit). We've recently streamlined this by adding a form which accepts all data other than cc as hidden fields, making the process less cumbersome for the customer.

Hope that overview helps. Our rep will be able to help clarify the specifics.

My suggestion to you is to definitely do your homework and talk to all the processors that you might be considering. Don't go without checking out the competition see what everyone else has to offer. I work for Epoch and would be more than happy to chat w/ you about what Epoch can do for you. Feel free to contact me directly via icq, email at [email protected] or call me at (310) 827-5880 ext. 207. Hope to hear from you!

Getting the last stages of Jettis implemented for one of my partners sites. Like others have said previously, the contract is long, but that's nothing compared to the level of one-on-one service these guys offer.

Goodbye Ibill. Long live Jettis & CCBILL.
