I've always thought that. I was even raised by a mother who did the whole "going back to school to empower herself thing" which does deserve to be respected, but she did it too early think. I honestly think its important for both the man and the woman to have accomplished certain things in their life, in order to develop and maintain a positive relationship with each other.

I have never known any female, in their right mind, who just wants to grow up and have babies and bake pies on sunday. And who wants to completely rely on a man.

My sister has a "mother-in-law" who is a complete Betty Crocker, the perfect house wife and mom. She also takes 7 seperate anti-depressant meds on a daily basis. But she is one hell of a homemaker!

I've never talked to another women that felt the same way as I do! I'm quite enjoying it.

I'd be willing to go out and work if it's absolutely needed. There's no question about that. You can't very well care for children if you can't scrub up the money to do so (I don't plan on having children for a long time as it is) But, as I plan it, from birth until they move out, I want to be home for my future children.

This might be why I'm attracted to Asian culture. They are more into those old men-work women-keep-house roots. Actually, I've heard that generally women in Japan quit work once they get married. Also, the woman takes care of finances. Basically, the man forks over his paycheck to her every month for her to work into the budget... etc. Kinda like that idea too. Hehehe.

It all depends on the situation.

In my experience, it was not until I hit about 25 that I barely started to feel as if I had done anything in this world, for myself and my own reasons.

All of my female friends who got knocked up and married prior to about that age have all cheated on their husbands at some point and lie to them, even just occasionally, so they can go out do drugs and booze it up with the guys in the club. ("if my husband calls you tell him I slept over your house, Cherry!") Then the next day all is peachy and they go back to the lives they are stuck in, perhaps even being somewhat happy. I just cannot live that way and will never find myself in that type of situation.

I'm not taking a stance on this one, I just hope evolution progresses with stupidity being a recessive gene.

well it sounds like they married for the wrong reasons...

Ahhh, I see now. I would not be one of those women. I've been in three solid relationships, length of relationships ranging from 5~1 years, I've had a one night stand... blah blah. I got that all out of my system. It's been consistent in my mind that the only thing I want now it one partner.

So I'm hoping to stay with who I'm with. I'd cheated on a past boyfriend (I had the best reason, if there ever was any, but I won't go into that) and it wasn't satisfying at all. I'm also not a partier. I don't like going out to meet people, I just... don't mesh well, I have no idea why. One on one, or in small groups is usually a blast, but the club thing just isn't for me. The best part of it all...is sitting in class at college and the disapproving looks i get when asked what i want to do with my life and i answer, raise a family. You can have an awesome impact on the world through your kids alone, people have forgotten that

You know I didn't notice that the forum had a section entitled "men: the weaker sex" and I'm not toally comfortable with that.

I think there is a fine line between empowering women, and stepping on men. I don't agree with putting men down or saying that they are weaker, or that women are better.

I have never liked it when women claim to be superior to men. I just want to be thought of as equal. I don't want men to be discriminated against for my benifit - how is that righting a wrong?

However, it is about having the choice to be a homemaker if you want not being made to be one. It isn't too long ago we didn't have that choice and it is those independent women we have to thank.
