I hate latex - the polyurethane condoms ( which is what Supra is) ABSOLUTELY do a better job of transmitting body heat adding much more to the warm variable in the equation:
warm+wet+moving=good
I have used both these and the Avanti (by durex) which came out first.
I have tried both in the same session to try and compare and figure out which one is better. The biggest different is that the Avanti is looser than the Trojans. I believe I prefer the Avanti. Some people, however, have said they don't like this aspect of it.
Be careful in that if you can normally pull out without having to hold the base of the condom - you may want to do so with the avanti. [I am prepared for the "Funny, I don't have that problem jokes"

If you hate latex condoms - you will never use another after using the Avantis.
They are not stocked in as many stores, but drugstore.com has both.
the fda wants you to know that these are only supposed to be used for people with latex allergies. they haven't been tested as fully as latex against aids to scientific specs, but have been shown to protect against aids in the lab.Comment

Funny this should come up. I was wondering where to get some honest advice about condoms. I HATE the things and haven't used them since being with my husband (I've been on the pill and we were both checked out for disease before 'getting together'). After the baby gets here though I won't be able to go straight back on the pill and we'll need an alternative method of contraception. Condoms make the most sense but....ICK. Please guys and gals, give your honest opinions. I want to know which are the best feeling/least invasive.

Sponges, foams and the like all require 'planning' and I'm a spur of the moment kind of gal so it looks like condoms are the best choice. I just want to know which are the best. I'll keep the Avantis in mind though.

I've used that method in the past. I know it can work but only if you are CERTAIN about your monthly schedule. After having the baby it would be all hit and miss. sheep skin - ONLY - if you are in a one on one relationship and are ONLY protecting from pregnancy. Some men I know that are alergic to latex will double up with sheep skin on the bottom but really other than that unless you are 100% sure about your partner (and most people aren't) stay away.
Advanti are pretty nice, trojan aren't really available over here (Durex is the main brand) so I don't know what the other variety is like. It is also more durable.

I hadn't used condoms before (only once) and had trouble lasting very long, so I tried those. Whoa coming too quick sucks, but not coming at all really sucks.
So just a regular condom works great for me, good lasting power but I can still come. I still prefer skin to skin though.

Muff - Thanks for the link but there wasn't any new information there. I'm well aquainted with all the various methods. Ideally I'll go back on the pill as soon as I can (probably after I stop breastfeeding) so I don't really wanna go for any of the 'long term' options like the implants and IUDs. And like I said in an earlier post, I'm far too much a 'girl of the moment' to bother with sponges, foams, diaphragm, etc. So basically it comes down to condoms. I think I've resigned myself to that now, just looking for the best option. We'll probably go for sheepskin in the end for the most natural feel as disease protection is not an issue.Comment

1) I have tried sheepskin and I DO NOT think it feels natural. It is a dead sheeps intestine for gods sake. I personally think they feel worse than latek. They might be "natural", but wood is natural too and I am not wearing a wood condom. They smell weird too.

I'm glad others have used Supras. I talk to friends of mine and they've never heard of them. They're not sold in all stores and they're more expensive than most other condom 3-packs. I don't have latex allergies but I like them because they're odorless (as opposed to that latex smell) and I think they stay lubricated longer than latex. I think I read somewhere that they are stronger than latex too and less likely to break.Comment
