I need a specific Photoshop tut.

Would someone please be kind enough to post a link to a photoshop tut for me? I need to figure out how to make a photo look like a cartoon. TIA.

change the brightness and contrast and you can take out the shading.

or, you could trace it and make it vector. although i've never done that before. shouldn't be too hard.

there are several techniques, I've never seen a tutorial, but I know no less than 5 different ways on my own. The best is vector shape, but depending on the pic and elements you have on it, you'd use some 3-4 steps fast actions to do it. If it's just one pic, post it here and I'll see what can I do. Now, if you want to learn the technique, I can't help you because I suck at tuts

show us a sample of the effect you are going for.

if you're talking about taking a photo of a person and turning the person into a Disney looking toon - there are limitations to what Photoshop can do.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Not precisely Disney, but that's the general idea. Thanks guys.

that would take a fair amount of hand tweaking to do that - and some artistic talent. I think I would used use the 'Threshold' whatever it is to reduce the photo to a black and white line drawing. Then make a new layer and start drawing freehand with a brush using the line drawing on the layer underneath as a guide.

Thanks Mutt, appreciate that. We'll see what I come up with after trying that one.

here you have a very quick example of what you can do with different techniques. It needs a lot of tweaking, but for 15 mins is not bad and it shows you vector and some other stuff

there's no secrets, it's just vector and some brush painting, all in different layers (the white part of the eyes in a layer, the iris in another, the face another layer and so on). then a little playing with light and transparency settings. Not the best you can do, and prolly not the easiest, but it's not that difficult either, and there's no more than that, really

It may be useful to search on Google for Photoshop plug-ins, there are many hundreds out there, you may find one that will at least part way help you get the result you are looking for .

Thanks harvey. But I'm still relatively new to photoshop and haven't started using vectors yet, so I'm kinda looking for a how-to to get me started there.

Cindy, thanks, but I want to learn how to do it without plugins.
