Anyone know of a better deal than this?

    on CDRW media?

either faster speed compatibility, more on a spindle, cheaper price, or any combination of those things?

Several months ago my local Office Depot had a generic 32x 50-pack going for $8.99 with a $12 rebate. In other words, they were paying me $3.01 to buy the CD's. And they are working just fine, too! When I checked out with three packs, I said to the cashier, "Is this for real? Are these disks okay?" "Yeah," he said, shrugging his shoulders, "I expect someone will come in and buy 'em all up, but it hasn't happened yet." The sale went off at the end of that week, and nobody had bought up the full supply of disks that they had to pay you to buy. I still can't figure out what was going on there.

Get the newest "Nero Burning Rom" - its the best program.
Its important that you update your aspi drivelayer (download that from www.adaptec.com) to get top preformance

yeah... already updated that... then got a quick and dirty little program called BurnQuick.... works great.... (I only ever need to burn data anyway) and can burn at 48x if I could find cdrw media that's compatible.... I've still not seen anything faster than 12x rewrite from the links you guys posted... but thanks...

                      mine was 16x

But if you want speed, get Verbatim DataLifePlus Crystal - write at 40x -- I can sell them to you at DK.kr800 (about $110)

I'm lookin' for re-burn discs.... not CDR.... using them once is no good here.

the only re-burn discs I can see that are 24x able, at something from Yamaha, and one from Mitsubishi Chemical....

tested two types of ultra-speed media (the Plextor and the Yamaha/Mitsibishi discs)
                        (clipped from cdfreaks)

i know you guys must think I'm nuts... but apparently you can't even buy this stuff yet....

I found one at Yamaha link, but you can't even buy it from them yet.

so... guess I'll just keep waiting for technology to catch up with itself... (they're probly like $8 bucks per disc anyway)
