Fucking Xbox !!!

Check this....

I get an XBOX for a christmas present today.....

Ok, its bad enough that I plug it in and it does not work...

It says call customer support for service....

So ok.... I call....

Thay tell me it is out of warrenty and will cost me $99.99 plus shipping to fix the fucking thing......

Now how fucked up is that.....

Man..... Microsoft sure knows how to fuck things up !!!!

take it back to where it was purchased.. I see no reason why they wont swap it out or refund the money.. unless you got it at a swap meat or flea market.

Easier said then done...

My mother bought it for me, I live in Cali and she lives in Canada..

No it was NOT USED brand new in the box.....

and apparently the warrenty goes by the date on the bottom of the box (the date it was built) in my case it was 2002-06-15

So now I have a choice, pay to ship it back and maybe the store the store will replace, then pay to have it shipped BACK down here....

or pay the $99.99 plus S/H to Microsoft....

you know with this kind of shit and thier new software licensing
system Microsoft is going to hell.... hope they burn there....

You could try just bringing it to Best Buy or wherever. Tell them it was a gift, you don't have the receipt, but that it's broken and you just want to exchange it. Wal-Mart takes anything back and so will Target so try them if Best Buy won't do it.

but if I bought one....... took the broken one back in its place..... got a replacment.... then returned that one ........

Doesn't hurt the store, and Microsoft gets thier broken piece of shit back.......

After Christmas is the easiest time to return stuff. Just take is to Best Buy or Wal-Mart or somewhere and tell them it was a gift and does not work. Wal-Mart is super easy to take stuff back, Best Buy is not so easy but you should not have a problem.

Here is what you do. One you take it back to any store in the local area and say that it was a present and the person who gave it to you bought it there. Best options are: Costco, WalMart, Target, Best Buy. Tell them you simply wish to exchange it for a new one since this one doesn't work. You will not even catch a dime of shit from any of those places. No matter where it came from.

This won't work cause they have gotten smart to that idea and put matching serial numbers on the box and machine. Trust me and Twisty. Target, Walmart, Costco (they take everything back), and Best Buy is pretty good too. Most of these places will do it fast today too cause they are just trying to get people moved through the lines today

i've heard a lot of people bitchin on XBoxes, so I got my 8 yr old the Sony PS2 for Christmas. He's been on it nonstop. Also heard the variety and quality of games is greater on the PS2.

big bucks to try and keep up to date on software, most people
need to upgrade just because of bugs in the software.

Now it goes into hardware as well, when the hell have you heard of a 90 day warrenty from the DATE IT WAS BUILT??

Did you even read my next post? I already covered the "it's the principle" angle.

Here's the facts:
A) Counting warrantee from the date on the box is stupid. Microsoft sucks.

B) You acted like an asshole when someone posted a simple suggestion. He said "unless you bought it at a swap meet or flea market". YOU had to quote that part and make sure we all know you're wealthy. What the other pserson said had NOTHING to do with that. You _only_ did that to brag about your money, so stop whining because I called you on it. I'm sorry if you have confidence issues but being a ca$h money hustler doesn't make you immune to ridicule OR getting defective products. A lot of people have been fucked by companies in the past.
