yes... after all that talk, one of my fantasies came true... Ok...you got a permit to live there or you're crossing the border every few months...i do know theyre not really keen on foreigners living there. And it's VERY hard to get a working permit.

i read up so much on BBK before i went there that it feels like i used to live there. It was an amazing introduction to Asia for me. I spend about 2 wks. in BBK and 6 wks in rest of Thailand .

If you get a chance - I highly recommend going to Siem Reap in Cambodia to go to Angkor Wat. You can catch a private bus from Khao San Rd that will take you across the border and into SR or public bus and taxi to border and then another taxi to S R. It was by and far my favorite experience on my travels in SE Asia and I suspect it will soon overtake the Pyramids in Egypt as a sought after destination once people learn more about Angkor Wat and see that Cambodia is safe now.
