there is certainly no lack of qualified nominees -

but i'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned Jenna Jameson.

from the little I know of her - I would say she deserves to be called the playerette of the year.

She has recreated herself - moving from one side of the business to the other. First being labeled as 'talent' to running her own empire of websites and strategic partnerships with industry leaders to push and market her name and image. she's kicking ass...

just last week i saw her pop up as a featured site being pushed by Hustler - before that it was a partnership with Adult.com - she gets mainstream press from the likes of Ben Stein and Howard Stern. Well, she's got tits, of course she would be on howard stern, but my point is, she is everywhere, and I don't believe that is entirely related to her looks, I think it has a lot to do with making good business decisions.

opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, but that's mine... hope she gets considered. (to all the others good luck, cuz there isn't a doubt in my mind, the names I read, deserve our respect as well)

D not knowing the exact criteria for Big woody vs Player award..but my assumption would be that the award is to women of power and influnce,not just good in bed or able to party well;), over an extended period of time in the industry,those that have sustained the level of influence and power for more then 6 to 12 months;)..one that truley control ebb and flow of $$$ in a constant way.The vast majority of the posts in her have women that dont come close although I think the ones youve awarded in the past 70% are still around and a good portion of then deserved it.Kb has it pretty close but seeingly has a mix of celebrity and true power,I unashamdly add my Sammi to that List,she has been VP of Ops for Insite for 4 years! Also if freakin Amber hasnt won yet thats a real crime too.Also another legend behind the scenes but as stong as ever is Aly from MAX CASH....I love my Magick and Patty Cake too strong ladies with great track records but lets not pass over long time lady legends with real purse string power.;)

Yep, it would be very hard to pull off. Eminem cost about $200k at least to perform, at least.

If he came, I'm sure he wouldn't participate on stage. But who knows.

I'd say I have about a .001 percent shot at him. But it's still a shot.

Too Short would love to do it if I asked, and he a pimp of pimps. The only reason why I might not ask him is because the party would end up getting shut down as soon as he starts getting chicks onstage taking off their clothes, like the last time he performed.

As for you, Brad, if I didn't realize just what you are, I would feel sorry for you watching you through all this. Yes, there are a lot of ladies worthy. I remember just 2 years ago thinking that we only had a handful of worthy ladies. Either I wasn't as informed or the ladies are really stepping it up this last year or 2.

And every year KimmyKim is mentioned, which tells you a lot about KK. She's got max respect.

Anyway, I'm glad. I've always wanted the awards to go to more women, but I didn't want to force it to them if a guy was more worthy.

Shit, now I can't think of enough guys that are worthy!

I'll have to start a new thread for the guys.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this chat board. It's very difficult to make up awards and the winners. No matter what, people will second guess everything. Whether it's the voting process, the judges, the winners, people will always give the people who throw the awards slack. Probably more slack then props.

So, fuck it. I'll just keep giving away awards, judged by one person (lil old me) with the help of a whole community. The idea is a good one. With the attention and audience a huge party like the Players Ball brings, I feel it would be a shame not to focus that energy on the true players in this industry. If anyone wanted to know why I do these, that's why. I mean, when else can you get 4,000 webmasters in one room, with their focus on the stage? I wish my newsletters could get that kind of attention.

What I realized today is that bringing up the topic also gives that little extra props and attention to the people who won't receive the awards, and that in itself is a cool thing to do. How often do people take notice of these people and post about them?

Personally, I'm hoping the XBiz Awards gets good feedback and is well received. We need more award shows in this industry.
