Here in the Philly burbs, there are a lot of really cool antique stores - consigment stores that carry pretty much eveything, but, I found one that had a TON of old playbills from musicals ranging from 1890's to 1950's for like $2.00 to $10.00 each.

Bought a load of em and then got the matting from the local art store and frames from IKEA. Totally cost effective and really wild art that you can match to your decor with ease.

Really nice way to preserve vintage art that normallly gets tossed away and really can add spice to your house, also, you get to brag to guests that you "made" the art for your home as well.

            Good Luck!!!

I'm into folkart (living in a log cabin, the "finer" artists don't exactly fit ) One of my favorite artists is Howard Finster I love the colors and only buy the animals and angels. Some of his faces freak me out! He died recently so of course, it's more expensive to buy his things, so I'm buying more from other artists. I only buy things that I like and that have a lot of color and simplicity to them - what they're worth and/or what they'll be worth means nothing to me.

I also collect antique quilts from the 1940's with folk art type designs and bright colors and use them for a lot of decorating.

My mother has a HUGE collection of Boehm Birds from over the past 35 years. I'm out of her good graces, but whoever inherits them will have some BEAUTIFUL things

I buy all my art at Target. If you pronounce it "Tarzhay", you would be surprised how many morons say "ohhh...that's really nice."
