Optical Illusion Proves You Can't Trust Your Eyes

I found this to be kind of strange.

Wendy (the girl on the left) appears to be closing her right eye and re-opening it (hence a wink).

This NOT the case though, it's a simple looping .gif file which conatians only 2 images. 1 which has the eye open and 1 which has the eye closed.

The mind fills in all the steps in between to make it appear to move.

At first I thought it was just me, but everyone I have talked to also say that it appears to close, and can't picture it going from open to close in one jump.

Kinda wierd eh?

Actually you will see that there are only 2 images. 1 open and 1 closed.

One of the images (the open one) is used twice for timing, thats all.

What I find amazing is how you could make such an analogy.

If you want to move a man on horseback from point "a" to point "b" then you need hundreds of frames in between the two points, each one of them showing a slight movement in the desired direction.

In this case you jump directly from point "a" to point "b" and there is nothing in between.

It seems to be a subject that you are having a hard time grasping.

I simply found it inetersting that the mind makes it appear to be "half closed" at some point, even though no such point ever existed.

Setting up a random gallery script would be incredibly easy and could be done in 5 minutes.

I actually have one running on demonwolfe right now.

The problem is that sending the hits to the script with globills code counts as a click on the stats for members. So if you sent 1,000 hits to the gallery random script it would seem as though you sent 1,000 hits to the paysite, and everyone in the TGP industry knows that there is a big difference between those two things!

I need purchase a script which can "insert" the affiliate code from the URL. I have seen many programs using such scripts so I should think it would be an easy purchase.

If anyone knows where I can pick up a canned version of this be sure to drop me an email.

But that's how motion pictures work. As the horseman rides across the screeen, his horse moves three feet to the left going from frame 101,932 to frame 101,933, but your mind "fills in" all the space in between. You are pretending there's a difference between that and what you described with the eye. There isn't.

It's not like I just came across the site and freaked out over it, I created the graphic and I expected to put in 5 frames or so, but was (pleasantly) suprised that only 2 images were needed.
