They're the best in the world! But then again I do work for them. If you're looking for top of the line support, fast VERIO bandwidth and some of the best prices in the industry, then definitely go with Racksale. Try finding a better host in this price category, you won't find it
Sure, I'd buy hosting from anyone that sells bandwidth below their cost!! LMAO I appreciate that their pricing is ala carte but just remember that 10mbit from Verio costs them over $350 for certain.

That's where the problem is...lots of people talking about them, but nobody providing any direct experiences or opinions (other than company reps) on the hosting/services provided.
Believe me, I'm not slamming/looking to slam RackSale...just looking for any clients who can offer the real info.

I know nothing of them personally. However, I can assure you that they are selling bandwidth for less than they are paying to Verio. So, if you want a host that is losing money then they might be your guys! Perhaps they have a master plan but considering Verio won't even sell a gigabit (1000mbit) for $35,000 anywhere in the country now it should make you wonder.

Hi Brad,
Trust me - we do make money on the Verio deals. Yes - we have made a great deal with our Verio rep, and we are passing it on to our clients.
We have been NTT/Verio based in the last 6 months, and have yet to have a second of downtime - our clients love it.
I do understand your concerns though, you dont see that many selling 300gb for 75$/month (www.racksale.com/deal.htm) or 10mbps for $375/month, even if they were cogent-only hosts
Anyway, anyone who shares Brad's concerns can contact me directly via [email protected] or 19678140...

can i send out 10 million emails perday with a guarantee that I wont be shut down.. and for only 299 per month?
A fast fortune is easy to earn! Just go with a winner!

How is being only on Verio a good thing? What the fuck happens when verio goes down????. If you care about your sites get a real hosting company not some bulshit host that has a rack in verios datacenter. You guys dont even have a phone number to call on your site. People be warned...
not sure what that was all about - but well, I guess you are entitled to your opinion, even if you have never used our services...
Verio takes redundancy very seriously, building at least two connections, each from a different carrier, at many of the major points in the network. Because they work with a diverse portfolio of carriers, their network is not reliant on one vendor in the event of an outage. These geographic and carrier redundancies ensure that your data will keep moving, even if a link fails.

You guys that know me, know that I don't normally talk shit about anyone, let alone normally even post in the hosting threads, cause I have no desire for folks to think I'm spamming myself. But when someone opens their mouth this wide, I just have to make a mental note of the thread, so that at some time in the not too distance future point I can come back and shove it right up their ass
Please don't make retarded comments like "we don't go down" when you've only been in business since June of this year, come back in 4 years and make that comment, then we'll know your here for the long haul And no I wouldn't even host my tgp sites on a box that has one pipe leading to it, all pipe providers have troubles some time, that's why God created BGP4
I never said "we dont go down" - Ive been in this biz too long to say a thing like that (been doing hosting for a few years, and been in the adultbiz for even longer btw).
All I said was that Verio doesnt go down, and yes, even that statement was a bit to bold i must admit.
We havent had any issues with verio, they have been good too us, and our clients.
We do not promise a 100% uptime - simply dont believe in it, but we are saying is that our uptime is top of the class and up there in the 99.8-9 area.

edit: oh, forgot to add that our 24/7 1-800 phone support will be initiated in january.

I've been following your threads since you started hosting and I've seen a lot of thouse "too low price" statements.
And in the defend of Racksale I would like to add that different people make different deals. It depends on your negotion skills.
And can say that I also once negotiated with a backbone provider about server relocation for some servers we had at our office so we could drop our OC3 and move everything to a redundant facility and got a price of $150 per megabit based on average usage if we only took 10 megabits. And that is around 1 year ago now. If I was shopping as a small / medium hosting company today I would not have any problems getting on a 10 gigabit pipe without any cap for probably 1/3 or less of what I was offered to back then. Fuck the guy I talked to even send me christmass cards now :D

I didn't realize there was something else here for me to respond to.
You're on crack if you think you could be on a 10gig Verio pipe (or ANY verio pipe) for $50 on average billing. I'll ignore the 10gig pipe comment as a joke because there might be one or two places where you could hop on that much Verio bandwidth if at all. Your point is ok, the one about pricing coming down. However, your assumption that they've got some out of this world deal is wrong.
All the research I did points to the direction of them not even being a direct Verio customer. My point? Either they'd lose their ass if people used all the bandwidth they were sold (ie - they would be overselling their network) or they've got some money to burn through and after that they're probably fucked.
Case in point? If this guy can show me an invoice from Verio saying that he's paying anything less than $37.50/mbit I'll eat my words and put my money where my mouth is. I don't know what would be a fair bet but I know I'd put at least a couple grand on the line just to prove a point. For all we know he might even be on a 100mbit ethernet connection, not even a fiber connection.. god forbid, that would mean that he's only got enough pipe to sell 10 customers.
...and I say all this with the utmost respect, somehow. I don't know him and I'm not looking for business here. I'm just pointing out the economics of the situation and showing you that you're wrong if you think he has a suitable operating margin just based on his cost versus sales prices. So you're right, I am saying that his price is "too low".
Cheers,
Brad

Actually it wasn't Verio but that doesn't really matter. If one provider offer it you can get the other provider to do it as well.
And no it wasn't some shitty little cogentgo type of provider neither. As example now the ISP we used that delivered our OC3 is transporting all their cross atlantic traffic through their Fibers.
$50 per megabit on average billing is very possible if you know how to deal with them.
If that is not possible mayby you should put the crack pibe back to the drawer a few days and do a little resarch about your own market.
btw. $50 on average billing with 10 megabit commitment is not what I was talking about. $50 was if I was shopping as a hosting company and was buying a lot more ;)

lol
Sorry Due, you're wrong. Level 3, Verio, Qwest, Global Crossing - none of them would touch that anywhere in the country. $500 is dick to a tier 1 provider like that.

Perhaps I misunderstood your post. With what I purchase I'm in the neighborhood of $50, I don't know what would have given you the impression that I'm paying more.
