On December 10th, 2002, a judge awarded chesty Pam Anderson, 35, and her 40-year-old ex-hubby Tommy Lee, $1,481,786 in their court battle against porn company IEG (Internet Entertainment Group) over a videotape of them having sex, which was allegedly stolen from their home in 1997.
Although U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson initially threw out the lawsuit in 1998, saying that Anderson and Lee signed away the rights to their seedy tape, an appeals court overturned the ruling.
And since IEG failed to appear in court or participate in the proceedings whatsoever, they ultimately defaulted the case. In essence, Pregerson awarded them almost $1.5 million, which amounted to the profit the company made off the tape.

With that much $ on the line...would you at least try and find a way to show up in court to try something...even if it had no chance of working?
