grindcore is probably the most extreme...buzzsaw guitars, heavy bass, growling vocals (growling like Linda Blair in The Exorcist)...the lyrics are usually of little importance as it's all about how it "sounds"...the vocalist for Obituary often will make up words and claims he's not a singer, but his voice in an instrument and sometimes "real" words just don't fit
chcek out the club band in the movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" that's Cannibal Corpse...they are grindcore

Grindcore to me and others I know is shit like Exhumed, Embalmer, Carcass, Impaled etc...
