Crappy deceptive sites you don't want to promote?

I'm a total amateur girl trying to think more like a webmaster (it's not working so far). I guess I'm not very money motivated because I do NOT want to refer people to sites that are deceptive and shitty (even if they'd make me $).

I joined one of the ARS sites and I thought it was a totally deceptive piece of shit ripoff and I would feel ashamed of myself to promote it.

On the other hand I think the NastyDollars sites are fucking awesome and totally worth the money and I'm proud to promote them.

I know a lot of people are just in it for the money . . . but those of you who have some kind of ethical standards . . . which revshare programs seem to have the highest quality sites without misleading tours and so many upsell attempt in the members area that the person's just paying for access to advertisements? Any that you avoid like the plague?

I agree with you on the fact that some of ARS sites are shitty and ripoffs, another thing that pisses me off about ars is i joined one of the sites with my credit card and when it came time for them to send me a check they told me " we have 1 signup from your ip with your billing information " and decided not to pay me the $1800 i made because of this. so i closed my account, funny thing is my login to that site still works

I am bummed that more people aren't responding! Maybe if I stick a pic in here people will read and give some honest opinions about shitty sites that they wouldn't feel right about promoting even if they could make money off of them.

I'm not in this to make a fortune so I agree. If I knew a site was shit I would not promote it. I also hate having pop-up and consoles. I guess that's why I don't make any money. lol

btw, how do you get into the sites to see what they are like?

I actually JOINED one of the ARS sites to see what it was like. Then I emailed them to tell them I wasn't trying to scam the system and to take my signup off my stats (so I wouldn't have the problem Markell described).

I know you other guys are joking around about that "discuss it in person" stuff . . . but just as an fyi, I *will* be at internext in January. Hope to meet a few people there!

Well, I've found that most amateur sites I've joined are fairly non-deceptive...angeliquexxx.com for one That's one of my favorite sites and she has a partner program as well. She is extremely yummy JustinesBedroom.com is a good one too!! Excellent members area and she has a partner program as well. I can't comment on many mega-sites, because I tend not to join those. I think my own amateur teen paysite (link is in sig) is non-deceptive as well. I'd be more than happy to give you (or anyone for that matter) a temporary pass to my members area so you could check it out before you decide to promote it.

Hey Trixie - I'd have to agree with Cassie, since amateur traffic is what you know...you might be better off promoting other amateur girls that you know are real girls who work hard to make their sites kick ass.

While the payouts don't look as good as 35 bucks per sign up, you should know from your own experience that members stay & stay.

Personally, since I am an amateur site, I have found that promoting OTHER amateur sites that offer something alittle different from what I offer works best...it makes the most of my traffic looking for amateur stuff (since that IS how they found me)...things that I PERSONALLY like, I promote inside my members area, to my 'filtered' traffic. Things I am not AS wild about, I promote to my non-paying traffic...people whom I have not established any type of rapport or financial standing/reputation with...Does that make sense at all?

ANYWAYS, it works for me and I have found that: http://www.hometowncash.com/contentcsw.html converts really well for me.

Yeah -- you women are right -- I definitely should try to focus on my main site instead of wasting time with other stuff right now otherwise it will be ten years before I make anything good.

Slightly off topic:
So Kayla -- I have been tempted to sign up for your revshare program . . . but I know we haven't been on the best terms so I was afraid you might just cancel my account. I did have an idea though -- maybe we could capitalize on our animosity a bit by promoting each other in a not-so-obvious way by writing mean things about each other. I seriously think it would work . . . "see the bitch I hate -- we can't stand each other but she *does* have awesome pissing galleries -- I hate to say it, but it's worth checking out her site!!!!"

I know I don't have as much traffic as you do though so I completely understand if you wouldn't want to promote me back. But I didn't want to sign up for yours and especially write anything mean in an area where actual potential customers would see it unless you are okay about it.

Since I have seen the best conversions from personal recommendations I am this kind of a genuine pseudo-catfight review might work well. If we say we despise each other, but grudgingly describe each other's merits people might really be convinced!

What do you think?

Hiya, a amateur Newbie here.. I feel the same about some sites and referrals.. I do alot of referral linking myself, but try to mix it up a bit with banner & sample galleries..

My main thing is wanting to broaden my scope. I seem to be stuck in a "community" that I can't seem to break out of. Alot of it is lack of knowledge and uncertainty of where to direct my site.

I posted in the webmaster Q & A's thread but got no reply...

I've lurked here for a bit just to try and soak up some info and maybe get some sort of direction, haha, but this is like a whole new world and I'm a lost puppy.. :p

Any ideas/suggestions/comments would be fantastic.

I think the one thing I keep trying to remember is the MORE sites you try to build and the MORE ideas you try to chase at one time, the longer it will take to pay off and the more frustrated you'll get with yourself. But eventually I think it will be worth it even if promoting & building ONE THING at a time would lead to faster results.

I've heard that if done properly there's a lot of money in non-nude. Sweetdominique.com for example. I think lots of people find that more tantalizing than the tons of hardcore stuff you can see EVERYWHERE for free.
