I hired an attorney a few years ago who contacted them and they said some shit about the company having been sold fifty times and that the thieves are long gone. They also said we'd have to get at the back of a VERY LONG LINE and that they were considering bankruptcy.

If they are still charging customers from that fucking long ago, they all deserve to be in fucking jail. I don't give a fuck when the new owners came into the game. They should have immediately STOPPED charging customers and stealing OUR MONEY.

GFY didn't sell them adspace or anything, this is a public forum.

As for getting your money back, you're right, not going to happen. However, that doesn't mean an IC3 complaint shouldn't be filed, at the very least try to make sure they end up in prison. If a couple of you guys push it through a district attorneys office combined with an IC3 complaint that goes through the FBI there is a strong chance it will be investigated..Contact some news stations too, bad publicity is a good thing.
