The money being thrown around Canadian real estate has been crazy, the 25k/burn per month guy, I was told a story about one job he did where he was paid some ridiculous amount of money all upfront based on the fact that he does have a really good portfolio and reputation, no idea how much money he was paid, but it was supposed to be a SHITLOAD and the foreign client had their house fully furnished, toured it once in person and didn't like it, and ordered an entire second custom house in different colours like a couple blocks away for a different view of the lake. Like imagine that, you have a house built for you, tour the place once, don't really vibe with it, so you just build another house no problem. That's rich as fuck!
A year or so ago, I did a moving gig to survive where I was at a massive mansion in the Okanagan where the owner had something like 7 Ford Broncos, one in each colour they made that year. He was a real estate developer or something to do with real estate/property and also owned a Ford GT40 and a pimped out Raptor.
My mother-in-law bought a property a few years ago, never did a thing with it, forgot that she owned it, 2025 came and she got a tax bill so she decided to sell it... after everything she made 150k and never even stepped foot on the property.
Real estate is the carrot on the stick for Canadians. The alternative is being poor and overdosing on the street.
