Thing is, making cool and interesting stuff doesn't always make money, but working a boring and unfulfilling JAY OH BEE makes money, but is arguably worse because instead of being excited to make something for no money, you're not excited at all to do some utter bullshit for money.
...and working a JOB has zero upward mobility these days. The Canadian job market is beyond fucked and people with University degrees are making under $20 Canadian an hour... in 2025.
The only thing a broke ass 47 year old can do is work with and learn the newest tech and see if you can build something cool that makes money. Working a job is the quickest ticket to poverty in Canada. Nobody is poorer in Canada than people who work a job, unironically.
Now if you can make cool and interesting stuff AND get paid? That's winning!
