Obama is just bush II when it comes to spending, he just picked up the torch from Bush and is doing a good job finishing it off, it's a 1 party system when it comes to fiscal policy.

If any of this was really about helping "The People" they would have just cut us checks for $9400 instead of giving it to the old boys network on wallstreet (bear stearns AIG etc)

I can already get my medical care for free, if I choose.
However, because I'm a Marine I was shown how to take charge and be a man, create my own business and pay for my own medical insurance. And also because I'm a Marine, I learned that others can't always do what I did... sometimes, it it's impossible. And nobody in our Country should ever have to suffer in such a great land, when others don't have to.
That's what being a real American is about... it's thinking about 'other Americans' and not yourself... Dick head.
And I don't think I have ever said health care should be free. Actually, I lived in Canada and know exactly how I "paid for my free" health care.

Universal health care is different than Gov ran health care.. both of which would be health care reform, and making changes to our current system, and whatever else gets done - all of it would be reform.
We already have several forms of Gov ran health care. Which a huge part of the GOP base actually uses and lives off of.
Clearly, people the reform targeted towards, insurance companies and people being able to get, cheap, or affordable and maybe even free for some that can't pay, health care.

you guys don't get it, you are arguing about healthcare, the root of the problem is lawyers suing, docs getting malpractice insurnace and passing along the cost to us who pass it to our insurers who take .5% to 2% off the top and then pay the docs. Big fuckken deal.

If someone is really in need, people in America will bend over backwards to help. If you've ever worked in a gov social service office like I have and see the kinds of cars and jewelry clad people that show up for food stamps and other hand outs, you will see of all the people in need maybe 10% really need the help, the other 90% simply refuse to put buying food for their children first rather than living without a nice car, 2 tv's, a microwave, cable and an xbox for themselves.

I covered her for years, it had nothing to do with getting her covered. It has to do with the Insurance company, not covering her conditions..... completely.
So when you get a billed for $16,000 a day X 9 months, and they say they won't cover it... you let me know.

i have said this all along, there will never be a universal government run healthcare in the US.
simply put:
1. Healthcare industry/ pharmaceutical is biggest fiscal industry in US (even bigger than energy)
2. No person is going to spend 10 years in med school and run up $250K in school loans to get a middleclass income.
3. The only entity the US government is running with a reasonable success is the military.. a healthcare industry run by the government would be a disaster.
Instead the healthcare industry leaders will come up with their own reform, making somewhat of a universal program but in private companies, similar to Keiser making the cost reasonable to most americans...

Put healthcare in the hands of government and you at least can hold them accountable. It becomes an election issue, and they do something about it.
Best thing you could do is start a National health service for the people like just about every other civilized country enjoyes. Nothing fancy. Those who want to stick to the better private system can, but at least you get what should be a basic human right for everyone.IW
