Only sites that have performers at and above the age of 20 will have a legal right distribute content online as of next year. The move was motioned this week by a Judge Dorton after a crackdown on some 3000 teen websites was put in place in September. Jonathon Armider, an Investigation Specialist for the FBI, who leaded the bust on websites using underage models spoke with us today.
?Half of the studios we stormed in the course of our two week investigation lacked sufficient proof for their model?s ID, we know that at least 100 of these websites have material that definitely contains females whom are underage, a scary number considering the size of the adult industry? he said.
?Way too many sites have been taking liberties when it comes to providing evidence for their models? age, we had some companies trying to ring the models themselves and tell us down the phone, it is simply not enough,? said Lance Crester, a co-worker of Armider and supporter of the new legislation. When asked for his opinion on the matter, Judge Dorton said:
?Until the webmasters learn how serious the use of underage actresses is, we shall continue to enforce punishments for the whole industry. It?s a shame that those who provide adequate proof for their model?s ID will have their content ruined, I?m sure some will go out of business very quickly and the effects on our economy could be enormous.?
April appears to be the month suggested by most people involved in the change, though some say August will likely be the date when all sexual teenage content will be made illegal. We spoke to Adam Grasham, a leading adult industry lawyer and someone who opposes the change. When asked for advice to the webmasters facing implications from the illegalisation of teenage content, he gave us these words:
