Sony PS or XBox?

Hey guys, thinking about getting a gaming system. I don't know shit about this stuff. My last system was a nintendo.lol. That's why I come to you. Both are the same price now $299 so might as well grab one for when the the nephews come over or when I get bored I can stick on the NHL game..

What do you guys think?

i have both but i find myself using my xbox more. I really only use my PS3 for PS3 Exclusive games, i like the online community of Xbox much better

Many people ask the question on here, and some people start arguing over which is best.

The correct answer is you can't really go wrong with either. Both are great machines with very similar games and online play. And now at the same price aswell.

If most your friends have either console, it makes sense to go with that one so you can play them online.

PS3 comes with Blu-Ray of course aswell.

I wouldn't bother buying both, just decide on one. At least you aren't even considering a Wii, which loses it's appeal VERY quickly (for me anyway).

If you don't want to pay for having internet access on your console, go with the PS3. If you don't want your console to overheat and need repairs, go with the PS3.

xboxes NOW are just as reliable as a ps3, they had cooling issues in the first gens, that problem is fixed.

i have both...(notice sig)..plus the Wii for those ppl that come by and dont game

i use my xbox way more between all the COD i play with ppl and the Netflix feature
i use my PS3 for the bluray and for some games that are only on the PS3...

i say get both if you can....but if its one or the other....go xbox360

I have the Wii and a 360, and always thought the 360 dominated the PS3, but with the new release of the "slim" 120GB it definitely has a lot to offer. If you're into online gaming with buddies and shit like that, the online community is way better on the 360 but does cost 50 bucks a year, while online play on the PS3 is FREE. Keep this in mind...

The $299.99 360 has a 120GB HD, No Wireless, and No Blu-Ray Player. If your router is on the other side of the house (like mine) you'll have to shell out 100 bucks for a wireless adapter.

The $299.99 PS3 has a 120GB HD, Wireless Built In, and a Blu-Ray Player!!! IMO, the clear better VALUE is the PS3.

If money isn't an issue, get em' both as they are both awesome gaming machines. If you are worried about JUST games, get the 360. Looking for more of an "entertainment" system, get the PS3!

The slim actually has the LEAST to offer of any existing PS3 on the market. Maybe some extra HDD space, but you can open them up and put any HDD in them already so no big deal.

The PS3 has the better exclusive, first party titles. Anything major, aside from the Halo games and a few others have made their way onto the PS3...and often look better. It's also wireless out of the box as someone pointed out and has the Bluray. On top of it all, the online experience is free to use...no extra fees.

The 360 has the best backlog game library. If you want to pick up old used games, they are dirt cheap.

360 has Netflix and PS3 will soon.
