Going to watch it tonight. Hope it's good. I'm a HUGE fan of the franchise (first 2 movies actually) though there hasn't been a good Alien flick in like 30 + years lol. So I have my doubts. The director is from my country, so it should be interesting nonetheless.

The Critical Drinker (my go-to movie critic) said the movie looks awesome - in terms of the old school style of the first two films - but then it falls apart as the movie gets going. I love the first two movies as well but will probably wait to see it when it comes out on DVD.

A little of both honestly, some parts they could have just cut entirely, parts just seemed like they were left in to pad the length of the movie out.
There's one scene with floating alien blood, without giving too much away, it just seemed exceptionally drawn out for what should have been a simple 5-10 seconds scene imho.
Most of the movie I loved, the characters were well portrayed, plot was decent and the effects and action perfect, although I'll never look at sex the same way again

Ok, so it was pretty damn good. Much better than I had expected (my expectations were super low, so maybe that helped). Literally no woke shit in it, except for the maybe choosing a black dude for the synthetic character. Bu then it actually seemed kind of racist, how he was there to serve and work for the other characters LOL.
Anyway, I digress. It was probably the best Alien movie since Aliens (1986). However, that's not saying much, as everything that came after that was pure shit, including Prometheus (hated that crap). I like how they kept the story simple and straightforward and didn't try to get too fancy with it. They brought in a lot of stuff from the old movies, including characters, and even copied some lines word for word.

I didn't spot anything.
It's a bit retro-futuristic for some stuffs.
I don't believe in the physic/chemistry of the alien, that puts me a bit out.
Otherwise it was an ok scifi movie.
I would expect they develop the universe a bit more but Alien is a horror sci-fi Franchise, so i shouldn't ask too muchComment

They never said she is a woman THEREFORE she has to be strong.
I don't see a problem of being a tough woman, it's the fact that they are totally caricatural that annoys me.
