Whats good for strep throat?

I think i got it, feels like there are razor blades in my throat...im spraying vicks chloraseptic every 2 mins, eating 2 diff kinds of cough drops, drinking bottles of robotussin, & popping ibprofen.

Oh yea & im eating a orange popsicle....what else can i do?

Sucks not being able to sleep, o wait i just found some vicks vapor-rub, this now makes 20 diff products im ingesting.

Penicillan and get a good doss of 2-3 weeks if you can, if the doc tells you ya only need 6 days tell him he is wrong. If its a viris you need a bit longer. And penicillan doesn't hurt you if you have extra.

Are your lummth nodes enlarged?

Dude you need to go to the doctor because it can be deadly...

No shit...

Pretty much you get some pills -- and you need lots of sleep... It goes away and you're fine. Just get your rest and take the pills. I used to get it every summer right before final exams.

If not, get some <b>throat chloraseptic!</b> It's PURE GOLD when your throat hurts. Stuff numbs the hell out of your throat. If your case is pretty bad, it won't fix the pain totally, but it will make you able to function.

Yeah, going to the doctor to get some anti-biotics is the ONLY way to get rid of the thing. I had strep throat TWICE this year, it's not a fun thing to get. I bought all kinds of different medicinces, nothing worked. Hell, it was so bad that I woke up at 3am on Saturday morning and ended up going into the emergency room, that's how bad it was, it costed me a few bucks, but hell, I couldn't take it and since it was on the weekend, there was no way that I was gonna wait until Monday.

One thing to remember though is to FINISH ALL OF YOUR MEDICINE like they tell ya because after getting my strep throat, I took the medicine for 7 days and everything was cleared up, so I figured that I'd hold onto the last 3 days of pills for the next time that it came around.

Well, about a week later, the damn thing came back to me, I took the remaining 3 days of pills, but it didn't fight the thing off, so I had to go back into the doctor and get more pills. I made sure that I finished up EVERY one of those, ha ha ha.

One thing that I've learned after going into the emergency room, the doctor there taught me something new for when I have throat pain, he said to gargle the cough medicine. I never heard of that before, but it did seem to help a little.

Pr0 gargle with warm salt water, a good 3-4 times a day. It'll help your throat alot. Also some hot lemon juice with honey, add alot more honey, it is almost like an elixir.

I just went to ER day before yesterday because I fell ill within 1 hour, I was completely sick, freezing cold and felt like crap!!! Man ... they took my info, tagged me and gave me a shot. I felt like cattle. LOL!!

Next morning I woke up and had an allergic reaction to the shot, and spent 3 hours in the doctors office with some a$$hole talking about how he didn't take my HMO. I said, "Let me pay the $100 so I can get the hell out of here"! Needless to say I am more exhausted from the care than the illness.

You must not have had strep then? I thought it was only cured by antibiotics. My swab turned up negative thank god, nothing worse then strep.
