I think he was trying to illustrate the irony of busting them for a publicity stunt, by performing a swarm and felony bust that will play on news stations around the world. Kind of clever angle really.

I've seen people on tv today openly questioning if "we" can even trust this sherrif! Weird story all around.... still!

If he was just an average Joe who was suspected of owning some Pot, they would kick his doors in, wreck his house, and haul all adults away in irons (kids around or not).

Is there even reason for cuffs? They worried he may use sign language and call forth some mothership?

They let people turn themselves in or not face the press all of the fucking time for much worse shit. Putting him in cuffs would actually only give him more publicity anyways. At worse he broke a couple tiny ass charges, none would be arrestable offenses typically anyways. Routing for such charges or arrests is just fucking absurd. I also hope that all of you that are doing so also route for the cops and DA's to trump up additional charges and change the laws to fit just you. That you get happy when a cop abuses his power and turns jay walking into a 1 year prison term.
