    Idea; adding a IRC type channel to gfy?

    Hello everyone, maybe this was suggested before. I miss IRC I know it's still up and running but my chat rooms are either obselete or dead. I was thinking since gfy is about helping each other maybe a javascript irc channel or integrated chat room to gfy would be a good idea. What do you gfy members think?

              It's just a live version of the site. You accomplish even less and hang out with people who accomplish nothing. It's a pretty huge waste of time.

                                                              I was in control of one for awhile. I gave it up when another fraction felt that having moderators was such a bad idea it was worth a full on channel split. About that time or shortly after I said fuck it with what we all had before hand. The other channel was mostly trolls, fucktards, and people who like to do shit for shock value. Sort of like a mini version of 4chan for gfy. Now there were a few hold outs that were very cool and did real business but yeah.

                                                                                      When I think of this channel, I think of multi millions of dollars being generated by a small group of guys who know their shit.

Then someone who oddly is driven mad and picked on by the current occupants decided that moderation was not cool and got the majority of the constant talkers (versus occassional talker/lurkers) to jump to the new channel. He eventually lost control I think and a third non moderated channel formed. I think that is where it is today.

Hell you were a major point of many jokes from one of the other channels. It often even spread to GFY which pretty much ruined your old nick because of what people associated you with.                                                                                                                                       I love how a few of them still try to bait me, but it all backfires when others back me up, which makes me feel good now.

                                                                                                                                              I like idling in the IRC channel, I really only participate a few times a day but it's a nice quick break, plus it's a good place to get quick feedback, bounce ideas, get news, get a quick answer to a stupid question, etc...

                                                                                                                                              Plus a lot of the guys in IRC I have since met at shows and whatever and have become friends with. I don't get involved with the politics or trolling (which happens a lot less than you'd think).
