    Message boards and biz!

How much business have you ever gained from your time posting at boards?

From the boards we have sold soooo much content, worked on basic designs for people such as avs, tgp's, buttons and banners.

Also we have forged partnerships, gained consulting work, and are being well paid for providing girls for water sports shoots.

Would love to hear your experiences!

I get a lot of business through boards as well. Meeting clients, that seem to keep coming back after I work with them is a real pleasure and has been real helpful in establishing my business online, especially when I first started out.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Yep - networking on boards has been very important to both my on-line biz and my wife's.

It's very hard to break into certain areas of the industry unless you can meet the people at things like Internext but we're living and walking proof that you can do it via message boards even though there is no other webmaster further south on the planet than us.

                I agree Steve!

The networking and online friendships we have established have proved invaluable. The boards have been good to us.

You say you are further south than any other webmaster on the planet. lol Where are you based?

We are originally from Tasmania, the southern most state in Australia.

Hey steve - we've been trying to find out if there is cable or dsl back home

(last time we were there we were living in little swanport - near wineglass bay 100 clicks fronmanything so we could only get dial up)

I don;t think I could handle going back to dial up again
                        maybe they have wireless?

I think carrier pigeon is the latest technology here

Seriously Kitty - I believe that there are still exchanges here that don't have DSL and Marie read somewhere the other day that if you're more than 4km from a dsl equipped exchange - by phone cable, not as the crow flies, then you can't get dsl.

Temps have been miserable here - along with very high winds. A house in Congress Street lost its roof the other day. We had one day where it got to 31 but most days since then have been around 20 and they are forecasting 17 for tomorrow.

At least there is no sign of a drought here - we stayed at a B&B down at Kettering a couple of weeks back - the owner was tellis us that they are on target to reach a rainfall of 50 inches this year.
