I cant decide if i want to get an XBox360 or a PS3 - any of you guys that are hardcore gamers what do you think the best option is in terms of games im in to things like halo, splinter cell, rainbow six and those type of games are they available on both consoles and if so which of the two would you guys suggest i went for and why?

I would say XBox 360 if I didn't have 3 different ones get the RROD. I've had them all fixed, and they have all broken down again with the RROD. Stick with the PS3 if you're going to game on a regular basis.

I have all 3. Wii is fun as hell to play with other people. 360 is fun to play online. I haven't even bought a PS3 game yet, but I do have the new slim model. I was seriously impressed with just how beautiful the graphics are. I picked up a few blurays for it as well. They both have their pros and cons. If I would have started with a PS3 first, I would probably have more games for it than the 360. Ps3 you don't have to play online, wireless keyboard, blue tooth headset... The PS3 and its accessories have more of a sleek design and I like that.Comment

I had bothand for gaming is just can suggest the 360. The good thing about the PS3 is the blu ray player but now the stand alone players affordable. One minus point for the Xbox is in my eyes the noise, but I had an old one (first generation). I have PS3.
Most people say X-Box online is much better, but i don't see any problems with the PS3's play. It has Blu-Ray, and the price has also come down since the relase of the new slim version.
To be honest though, you can't go wrong with either console.
Wii sucks balls though...
