Trailers or No Trailers on tours? What converts better! Serious discussion!

I've been reading about a few webmasters who believe that trailers on tours affect ratios in a negative way. Would you say that this happens when every scene on a reality type paysite has a trailer? Would it be better to have 1 trailer that represents the whole site?

I have found that 1 -3 video compilations trailers sells better than no trailers if you got decent videos, I've been experinmenting this for years.

if the goal is to impress webmasters on message boards then do the following

1) hire someone to design you a heavy slow loading webpage with all types of animations, 3 pages worth of it
2) get someone to make you a killer intro for your trailers
3) get trailers made for your sets on your tour

if your goal is making money

1) keep things as simple as possible, focus on loading times and understand that just like you if you hit a page that loads slow you hit the back button

2) pick the right images for your tour, that will always outsell a trailer 100x over

3) overwhelm the surfer, show every set you have within the tour, all he needs is for one girl to click in his brain and he will join

I been doing this for a long fucking time, yes I know common sense tells you that a trailer should help with conversions, but that is not the case at all

I would agree generally with this, but think good well made trailer of the content that isn't too bulky can make the sale as most surfers these days are looking for videos not pics. But again, well made trailer not just a few clips chopped together.

Have you found out how many actually do use the trailer? It may be the quality of trailer as well - if you have a group of hot short clips and make the trailer no longer than 20 or 30 sec's with some amazing scene's in it then you should do well. Always have it where they want to reach for their wallet and not a kleenex

1) Slow anything can truly kill you...

2) I can show you tours with extreme-unique niches to the every day reality porn, that bombs with no trailers. Meaning a site goes from 1:300ish to over 1:3000ish without trailers, unique content too...

Then again, the reverse happens as well... but saying pictures out sells trailers, is 100% unproven.. so much so, you can't prove me wrong.

Any tour without trailers you currently have, I can make convert better with trailers.

3) That depends on the Website... We did this back in 2000, and it worked great. But it only worked on one website. It has only ever worked on one website for us.

Today, we find listing the freshest updates first followed by the highest ranked content sets by members, works out the best. Sometimes, putting the top set first on the tour, then the updates works as well.

Short of it.... no one thing is the answer when it comes to paysites.

If expereince is a factor, I have been running paysites for 13 years now.
