Straight line...car against car...yeah..you'll probably win...and so will any other 'hyper tuned' sport compact car.
However, if you take away the one dimension of cars like this(drag racing in a straight line) and apply them to actual real racing...I'll bet you lose...and lose big...
don't get me wrong, I'm all about bad ass, supped up sports cars...I'd love to trick the shit out of a phat VW Jetta or someother import ... but remember, your car aint' stock..so if you take your little RX-7, mods included, and allow someone to mod their vette...say something like this

i know i'm probably going to get flamed, but i never took the 7 to the track... instead i took it to about 20 autoXes. here's the list:
intake, streetport, ecu, full 3" exhaust, boost cont.
estimating ~300-320rwhp on a 2,750lb car, it'll scoot...definatly beats a stock C5. But nothing compare to what i've seen flying around on the internet. T76, T88 turbos on highly modded Supras, RX-7s... twin turbo vettes... sheesh. I was happy to just be the hometown "import king" of my hometown Spartanburg, SC
long story short, blew the engine, sold it for 13k (with the blown engine), and purchased the scoobie O well, life sucks sometimes, but i guess i can't complain.
i guess i shouldn't of been talking smack since i don't own the car anymore
