my MIL is in the hospital right now..
and almost every RN we've talked to.. and two of her general docs checking on her... were talking about how they're not getting it... and are kinda scared of it..
I've never gotten a flu shot before..

No fucking way am I getting any of it.
I don't even get the flu shot, and avoid plugging my body full of all the shit they suggest and am as healthy as can be. I never get sick, and trust in my immune system to keep me up. Funny thing is all the idiots taking the 100 pills a day and getting flu shots and shit are almost always sick all the time.

The H1N1 is the medias year 2000 scare. Think about it, most people who get it show no signs or have simple flu symptoms and are fine. Unless you are very poor in health or have a very weak immune system stay away from it. Normal flu shots over here are normally reserved for the elderly and people especially at risk. So, I only had one once and of course I felt rubbish for like two days before then skipped getting the flu that year.
I won't be rushing to get the H1N1 shot. I had a family member over here that did catch it and she was super sick for about a week and got excellent medical care over here. Still, I am not rushing for this one.
That said, I do have a serious tendency to get bad and frequent chest infections. So, a few years ago I had a pneumonia shot and I would go so far as it having changed my life. I have only caught winter chest infections once or twice since and never pneumonia.Comment

Nope ... I have 2 nurses in the family and both are saying that the vaccine for H1N1 is so cheap (= bad quality) that it has too much garbage in it: heavy metals (mercury) antifreeze, fillers etc... and it's scaring them.
Like someone above said, the regular flu kills more every year than this does. Media Hype is all it is really.Comment

I own a swine flu domain..it doesn't mean I know anything. Plus, anything that has to be said in all caps is going to be too hysterical for me to read anyway.
That said, my sister is 7 months pregnant, they want her to get H1N1 shot and I can't say it isn't making us all worry a bit. The normal flu shot, which has had much time to be tested, okay.Comment

well, i am all for hating the government, but this whole conspiracy thing doesn't fly with me.
i was in the military for 5 years and you get every inoculation known to man basically. this new h1n1 is mandated for military personnel. i still have friends in the military.
so, they are really going to give soldiers that they invest millions of dollars in a virus that is gonna kill them off?
