Why SEO may now be over

    This is an interesting vid.

It talks about google no longer being a search engine to find websites, but something new.

Rather than google searching your site and listing it for info for people, it suggests that google will turn to AI and search your site then use what you have on your site as information for google to create content.

So google becomes effectively the internet for all data.

This would become interesting and it could clearly with ease read all the data from such as Wikipedia then become Wikipedia, meaning Wikipedia is no longer used.

One suspects that this means SEO will become dead as google will not bother to list sites, or at least they will be a long way in the search results.

I suspect sites may end up connected to google, so for example if you were to book tickets for a plane or bus or taxi, rather than do it directly on the firms website, the site will have some integration with google so you do it directly on google rather than leave google.

One thing I would suggest is if you rely on google/SEO for traffic to a porn site such as a blog or pay site then in time this will result in fewer hits.

What will be interesting is if such as porn hub become a AI site and scans all the pay sites and simply produces the content in AI for free. In the same way I suspect google will with normal sites.

We don't mind longer articles, but of course, if there's a lot of fluff content that doesn't add value, better to avoid it.

The obvious flaw with that is that if Wikipedia was no longer used, Wikipedia wouldn't exist. Therefore, Google would have to generate all that data itself. Also, pretty sure there will be laws preventing that, just as there were laws that prevented Google News from showing more than snippets and previews (and it would similarly not have been in Google's interests to put the entire news industry out of business anway).

              But that is the point.

Google would collect the data from all the sites and create the pages themselves.

OK, but you originally said this : it could clearly with ease read all the data from such as Wikipedia then become Wikipedia, meaning Wikipedia is no longer used.

So now you say Google will collect data from 'all the sites', and not just Wikipedia, to provide all the information that Wikipedia can, so Wikipedia will go out of business. But will these sites that would surely also be in danger of becoming redundant be happy to have their human-researched info scraped and rewritten by Google?

The solution is a law that prevents other sites from displaying ANYTHING from other sites. In other words: no more copying of text, no more scraping of images, videos, etc.

Example: if I run a blog and write 1000 words and post an exclusive picture or video NO OTHER website would be allowed to display those words or images on their site unless expressly given permission to do so.

Enforceable? Probably not but a great start.

Google has essentially been doing this for a long time. They've been stealing people's content and then essentially rewarding people with some traffic. But over the years the amount of traffic Google has been sending has dramatically decreased. I don't think Google can completely turn off the traffic spigot but they may test to see how much of a reduction people can take before they start blocking or protesting google. Google could replace wikipedia with their own product assuming wikipedia isn't stealth controlled by Google already.

How they would then generate revenue from Adsense?
Also, it can backfire, people can start turning toward other search engines.

                        Ads on google.

Adsense on websites are not profitable for google as sites used clickbait and the traffic sucks ad advertisers are not happy.

And people will stay with google regardless.

They just make it part of google. It would take next to no time to do. Have AI read all wikipedia then rewrite it on google, then make sure wikipedia entries are pushed down the google search list.

Just copy it to ai and ask it to rewrite, even in the style of a famous writer. I have done this a few times and the result is better than the original.

google does not everything apparently on its own account...you get the taste with booking.com ,one of googles biggest customers.. they are not ashamed to burry the original hotel pages (especially the smaller ones) deep in results in order to favour booking plattform, also they enable booking.com to nudge room prices in some areas where they predict high visitors in conjunction with their maps data..., its not only the recession who let prices for accomodation explode at some hotspots...actually its AI working against you... seems nobodys does care.. sometimes you can save about 20-30 % when calling the hotel directly, its the same with some venue and concert tickets...the leading booking agencies are the biggest customers for google and therefore they dominate everything in search results and even price determination ...we will see that pattern repeating with more and more other bussineses

Google says don't import content from other sites... because only Google can steal that content to host it on google.com - everything from text to images.
