Yup yup, with that best, you can have an instant tube site without having to host the videos, up within minutes!

I just ran the class in a small script I wrote, and this is what it said to me after less than a minute after running it.

Sounds like a great deal, can I put the site up, (not get any views) and then turn around and immediately sell it to brazzerz for 1,000$? Been speaking with someone who knows the industry well, and apparently brazzerz is "buying up every tube site to be the only game in town." and with what I've been reading in the media lately, it doesn't sound that far fetched.

I don't see how, if you have it scrape the front page, which means only 1 page in, which is normal, why do you wanna scrape 10 pages deep every time? You'll get duplicate videos. It will only visit the site once, just like any visitor, so I doubt they will even see anything, not to mention you're getting anything they don't already supply.

I still don't like embedding their player since they can change it to do anything at any time. It would be better to have the FLV file location. Maybe decompile their player?

the simple point is this... do you want to have to pay $200.00 an hour attorneys to fight someone who can afford to pay a team of $600.00 an hour attorneys just to make a point about whether or not you can scrape their site without consequence??

I doubt they are gonna go through the trouble for someone scraping their site to embed THEIR videos and give them more traffic... Not to mention there are many sites out there that have scrapers built into them and have scraped these sites to embed their stuff for a long time.

Also re reading the highlighted parts, they allow embeding, therefor they are giving permission to redistribute the content, they say nothing in there about using a script to access their page and parse their data to automate that embedding process.

well... they took the time to put it in the TOS, so i guess the best way to find out is to definitely wait for the letter from a law firm letting you know you owe $XXX,XXX.00 in damages. but maybe that won't happen.

businesses that make decent money have lawyers in house/on retainer who are paid for "going through the trouble" to justify their salary.

there are a few of these scripts out there now. how legal/illegal is this? to my knowledge, scraping is legal, but using the content you scrape (aka "steal") for profit is illegal.

There are a ton of these out there already. I have a script that blocks IP addresses from people scraping my sites and adds usually 5 to 10 a day. Without this as a plugin, pretty much worthless IMO unless you only want to scrape 1 or 2 pages a day.

I believe TEVS is encoded so I don't think you can implement it into it's code, but because of it's nature, I can probably just write a code that will run it, and insert the data into your TEVS database.
