    How do you say NO to a model?

    How do you say No to a model that you do not want to hire?

    Every once in a while we get a new model completing an application who does not quite fit the niche I am looking for. For whatever the reason (age, body type, look, dress, PERSONALITY, etc) are wrong. Sometimes, its onlye 1 or more of the parameters above that are either exceeded, or not quite met. We don't want to be rude and we don't want to disapoint, but sometimes when they keep asking "Why? Why? WHY?" we have to be brutal and tell the truth.

    What do YOU do? Any horror stories?

          You just said it well. We dont want to try to make you into something you are not, it just doesnt "ring true" with the viewer. A hotdog cut in half and put in a hamburger bun is still a kick ass hotdog and the bun is perfection itself, but people *know* they dont go together.

              Simple, you never act as you have the final answer and tell them the "human resource" person will get back to you if they are interested. Ignore any other emails or contact.

                      this seems to be a very good option... but telling the truth is also a good one... just tell her that she doesn't qualify for what you are looking for...

                                                          I used to tell them that I am overbooked. Now I just tell them that I am not looking for that look. I only go after talent that I am interested in working with now. My friends, actually do a great job "scouting" for me. Or they are a friend of a friend. I don't have to worry about it as much now
