Building a website: WP themes vs. CMS webdesign

    Hi wankers,

I have been thinking about launching my own niche porn tube, where I’d personally cater the content rather than mass post emeded vids from elsewhere. I fap on a regular base and think I have quite a good taste, convinced that many would appreciate a porn library from yours truly.

I have however no experience with coding, and thus, had to google how one should start such a project. I was bombarded with sites for WP themes, advertised as the best solution for people who don’t have coding experience.
I must admit that some themes look really nice! for example from vicetemple

However, the more I kept searching, the more I started doubting about the viability of such a WP site. I saw some users write that WP is not meant for such large dynamic libraries. Furthermore I couldn’t find a single tube site built on WP, even the seemingly shitty sites didn’t run WP…

It wasn’t until i stumbled upon gfy.com, that I start reading about mechbunny, AVS, KVS, and freelancers who offer there services for sub 100$ (which is about the same price as a nice looking WPT on vicetemple).
However, I can’t help but notice that most topics on this are often 5+ year old… thus I wonder if things have changed throughout the years.

So the question is: WP or CMS webdesign anno 2023 for a porn tube website?

    Thanks for your imput!
    Cheers

PS: I have no idea what CMS stands for but assume it can point to any number of webdesign languages?

wp is a cms just like the others. you have a nice server you can run it. wp has way more options than a tube script. if you want the standalone KVS all the way.

Can you then explain why not a single succesful tube site seems to be running WP? I find it hard to believe that there’s not a solid reason for this

Wp is heavy on resources if you want to run a tube with 200k a day in traffic wp is a horrible choice .

For the basic 10k a day website Wordpress is great

Thanks, that explains why I’m not seeing the WP sites in the wild

WP is fine for a smaller niche tube but if you are serious I'd go with KVS.
