CuteFTP is one you'll hear recommended a lot. I use (and like) FlashFXP, which is designed for both uploading and downloading (FTP) but also for transferring between servers (FXP) as well.
Oh, and Coffee Cup's FTP program is good for editing files right on the server, so you don't have to download them and then upload them again. They have put out something similar to leech called Bit Beamer. It can also spider webpages for files etc aswell as ftp functionality. Multi threaded too.
I still use good old leech though

CUTE FTP PRO, FREAKING ROCKS.. Connect 6-10 times to the same domain and select a folder to upload drag & drop and ALL 6-10 connections start pumping out the uploads to the server, I mean I uploaded 15 megs with 4000 .txt files in something like 20 minutes. on a 256 k upload stream. Its a lot better than the standard cuteftp version, but both are good.

I've used alot of ftp programs, but THE ONE is flashFXP. The program kicks ass! (and you can use it for ftp stuff too ofcource)
