Anyone use halogen work lights for filming?

Any ghetto DIYers out there using cheap halogens to light their films? What are your methods? Diffusion? Home made tin barn doors?

    Enlighten me.

Getto would be buying up Cree 3W LED star boards for $5 each at DealXtreme.

Come to think of it, you can buy those LED emitters in an MR16 halogen casing.

That would get very hot, very quickly, would it not? Putting any kind of gel on it would completely melt/burn it, so shooting during the day with proper light temperature is out of the question. Try building some fake Kino's, just gotta worry about the flicker.

I would just go get clip on lamps and use LED light bulbs. Cool to the touch and you dont have to wait for them to cool down to pack up.

I know they get hot, aren't ideal etc. But they're free because I have some already.

They'd be for music videos and comedy sketches, not porn, so the budget is 0.

Any guerilla filmmaker mafuckers in here?
