Also you may want to define what types of shirts this will be printed on and what special techniques you're allowing... depending on your budget for printing these things...

All over prints
Over-sized prints
Locker tags
Blowouts
Foil
Fabric distressing
Embroidering
etc...

(I used to own my own apparel line) There are a lot of options out there the question is what are you aiming for? Just a logo'ed shirt or something hot, on trend, and fashionable?

Here is the latest shirt that I have been wearing. As you can see it probably took 5 minutes to come up with. It was simple use of font and color.
