I come from land acquisitions in the home building industry many years so I am extremely familiar with an industry which views men and women differently in the boardroom.

Hey Exotic Gold, yes you were right, but is it really human to cheer when something goes under? If it makes you feel good then go for it. The investors, who are mainstream, pulled the plug with no explanation to any of us..it had nothing to do with the sites or the affiliate program - they simply ran out of funding (which trust me our entire staff is still perplexed at the zero warning).
I am in the process of trying to take over the entire thing myself to keep it running because I believed in it, and myself, my staff and Alexis and Briana quite frankly worked our asses off to turn the business into something, regardless of the challenges and things we knew we needed to fix. So while you are cheering for us going under (which wasn't our doing but our mainstream investors), there is an entire staff that is jobless and two sites and an affiliate program that had serious potential to do well. There are some devastated people here.
Enjoy the gloating and "I told you so."
And on a different note - thank you to those of you in the industry who have offered backing investing, a friendly hug to myself, Briana, Alexis and the entire Starlet staff that had its' doors shut on them. Actually, just to clarify. I never once made fun of your program, you made fun of ours and I told you we were trying to fix glitches. I think there was some talk of making fun of women in the business, all in fun and my good friend Kelli took a stab at making fun of your business and your traffic numbers. If you recall you made some kind of bet with her over both of your companies, so you are mistaking me with the wrong person.
And btw, this didn't last 2 weeks, Briana's site was up since May 1, and this business had been opened in Oct of 2008, fyi. We'd all been working our asses off for quite some time to build this program.

No they did not. In fact, they set up partnerships with companies like VideoSecrets to open up a cams studio in Las Vegas, and talked about the future 4 to 5 years down the road and what they wanted to become with Video Secrets and with Briana Banks and Alexis Texas. They even went so far as to build an in-house affiliate software program to get off of NATS (which I advised against since we were so new).
There was absolutely zero warning. And after I was told, our contract girls were told if they mentioned their real names in public (because their families don't know they are in porn or their other mainstream business entities that's why they used my name in press releases) that they not only would destroy their careers, they would not give back their domain names or trademarks.
I completely believed in this business model. At the time they cut funding, we had advertising running on xbiz.com, the cover of xbiz world mag, affiliate numbers had jumped in Aug. from 27 to 70 affiliates, and sales had improved from July to Aug 131% (per Epoch's numbers and they can verify).
Absolutely doesn't make sense. When we tried to call the "silent owner" in Vegas which I will not release his name, he didn't return any of our calls. Not Briana's, not Alexis's, not mine.
I have seen businesses fail, and things happen and I kept asking the main owner (Tim A) to please be honest with us since he gave no notice and none of us qualify for unemployment benefits since we were all on 1099s and he said "funding is cut off" period. So that's all we know.
I was told by Tim A that if I could find an investor to run the business or take it over he would hand everything over. I found 3 investors as of yesterday. When negotiations started with Tim, he claimed he wanted $300k for the business alone - it's not even worth that much.
If I had the money I would continue to run it myself, but the damage seems to have been done.
I literally have never seen this happen in my life, not like this. These are mainstream guys who I think wanted to make a quick buck, new nothing about adult, so hired a staff that had adult experience (i.e. myself and the other Starlet employees) and when a year went by and they hadn't made their millions they pulled out and didn't care who they hurt. I told them they were damaging my reputation, Briana's, and Alexis's and they said they didn't care, wasn't their problem because their names weren't out there.

I think I am confused because Alexis has a contract with Starlet Group as their contract girl as well, so that is between her, LA Direct and whoever, not sure. But I'm sure she'll be ok for sure, it's just very unfortunate for all of us.
As for the TM thing...I don't want to answer for her but I'll be speaking with her today and will let her know what you said here for sure.
