Btc is the riskiest asset, in a bear market it will dip more than any other asset.

Everything is down, S&P 500, NDQ, Gold, Silver, you cant expect btc to outperform any of those assets in the bear market. If we get into a recession which is likely to happen we can expect it to go lower than 12k (huge support there).

But btc and crypto are the future and once fed and other central banks start printing money again it will moon. For that to happen we might have to wait 2-5 years or longer, cuz this aint looking good.

I can't wait to watch the same guys who come into every one of these threads and tout how it's "the future" and "so amazing" and if "everyone would just catch up to us" do a bunch of mental gymnastics.

I don't really believe in crypto at all. I think there will be CBDC and they'll ban other cryptos completely. Either prevent mining in the name of ecology, or make it so you can't easily cash it out to something you can use to buy groceries etc.

That said, I think many of us here have made good money.

Yeah, it's nothing more than a risky asset and that's okay. I've made some okay money with it also dabbling with it while I take a dump. There are early adopters who went from being $100 / day affiliates to having a pretty nice nest egg, too. That's awesome for them.

It still isn't the future, though.

I'm a bit more alarmed by the ethereum price then bitcoin. I would have thought that between the virtue signalling and the energy crisis in Europe, it would have gone up after the PoS update but it's dropped 20%. BTC is bouncing back a bit.

Funny that a place that was once at the forefront of what happened on the internet is filled with people who don't understand Web3 and still think this is all about "cryptocurrency".

Currently overpriced (due to the merge) If we look at the market conditions. If btc bottoms at 12k, eth will around 600 imo

I know right... to the pros it's all about building and inventing, kind of a passion... basically since I work with web3 full time I barely watch the price charts at all and I'm doing crypto-related stuff 24/7... this forum is full of people who can only think or see as far as "where the price goes" when it comes to crypto... meanwhile their whole future will be based on these technologies...

Every bear cycle we have idiot posts like this, and all these haters come out of the woodwork crying "Bitcoin is dead, Bitcoin is dead!"

If you are looking at a low price (Oh wow, way down to $19k), then you aren't looking in the right place. Show us that bitcoin is dead, fundamentally. If the security is at risk, or it lost its status as a decentralized asset, then maybe you're on to something. If not, you're not well educated on what it is, and why it's always claimed to be dead, but never dies.

DVTimes, Trevesty, adultinnovation, for starters, can you guys tell us how it's fundamentally dead?

I mentioned to you already, ETH changing to a more centralized PoS is a horrible move for them, that and they're partnering with World Economic Forum, not a good look. They are now a tradfi company with #1 goal to enrich the creators and those who benefitted from the 70% premine.

I agree, "crypto" is 99% scams and cash grabs

CBDC's is what will be used to shackle every person in the world, they'll give gov's absolute financial control over all their citizens, which will allow a 1984 style totalitarian system.

Bitcoin is the only one that is worthy of existing.

Bitcoin's glory days have passed. The blockchain technology will live on for a very long time, but using the technology for currencies is something that will eventually die out.

Do you people really think the owners of the world will ever allow something decentralized like bitcoin to ever go mainstream? Yeah, power to the people, right? . If you think the owners will ever allow the masses to have control over currency, then you are highly delusional.

Those saying that bitcoin will once again reach 70k, 90k, 150k . Right, because there have been many times in history where tens of thousands of "investors" came out on top and became wealthy, while the 1% lost money .

Anyone who looks at ANY cryptocurrency as anything more than monopoly money is in for a rude awakening.

If you see bitcoin only as an investment, you are completely missing the point. Bitcoin is freedom, bitcoin is hope. Hope that the governments won't be able to control every single aspect of our lives and cut us off anytime they please.

For those that don't know, LN is a way to send Bitcoin instant and nearly free transactions (no 14 hours, more like 1.4 seconds)

EDIT;, and let me add, using BTC txns on-chain never takes 14hr, maybe 1hr max and 30cents fee

It would be great if it did and people had the power to own and control their own money. However, it's a fairytale dream that people seem to have.

Cryptocurrencies in terms of monetary value will remain monopoly money to be used within the closed loops of other crypto circles unless adopted into the mainstream by the controllers of the world. If the masters do not want crypto to become mainstream then it will not become mainstream.

Again, btc becoming mainstream would make it easily controlled and useless just as fiat. The whole idea is that it not does become mainstream. And as for use...its just easily to use now as fiat...there are btc AMTs everywhere...like hundreds of them in every major city, so taking money out and spending is easier than ever, no matter how many retailers accept it as a form of payment.
