it's different with frames. You can put a code to break out of frames automatically. its quite simple really...you CANNOT alter the content of another website witout their permision, and that is what these guys are basically doing. Its a great idea, but it will never stand up in court. Any lawyer with half a brain can screw these guys over. It is only a matter of time.Comment

Their php script gets the page, inserts their banner (VERY crudely), and gives you the output.
1) All requests go through their server... which requests the document.... then displays to surfer (so x2 as sloooow minimum).
2) they can spoof the referer with this, (currently set to http://)
3) they can't spoof the IP they request the page from.
4) If you have their IPs, you can block this.

I've got an htaccess file in the www.gibhar.com root as follows:
Where the IP address used is their server/s's IP, and the url is a url to redirect such requests to.RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REMOTE_ADDR} 66.181.168.117
RewriteRule .* http://adult.gibhar.com/fuckxites.html
ie, all hits to www.gibhar.com from that IP get sent to the other URL.
On that URL, there is javascript to replace the image with my own image.
I've not seen their other 'features' like exit traffic stealing, but i'm pretty sure it would be possible to write Javascript to counter it.
Bottom line is you can either redirect all requests from Xites to another URL, or you can 'steal' their banner/features with your own.Comment

But this Xites thing is seriously fucked up. Altering the content of someone else's website is just fucked up, whether it's done via proxy or not. You're basically taking a site's adspace and using it for your own advantage, without giving the webmaster a dime. No way in hell this shit is legal.
Also, this thing makes many sites simply <i>unuseable</i>.

Click on any link, and you'll get microsoft's custom 404 page. Totally fucked up.
So, not only does it insert banners onto other people's websites, it essentially makes them unuseable in the way they were intended. Fuck this program. Fuck the people that started it.
