Well I used to be with godaddy, until they let someone into my account. Someone sent a paper letter in the post, saying they were me, and they were moving across country, and couldn't remember their login, to update the whois as required by icann.
Instead of godaddy contacting me on my VALID email, or phoning in me on one of TWO VALID numbers, they said 'Uh yeah, sure' and let a complete random into my account!
Unsurprisingly they caused utter chaos, for myself and for various other websites I was managing for people. Took nearly two entire days of phone calls to get shit sorted out, but I kept my cool and was nice to godaddy staff etc. Once I had it all back under control, I moved all the names to namecheap, where they have been ever since.
Again, not the cheapest on the market, but like I said, IMHO reliable and trustworthy. Not that the newer, cheaper companies are not... But I've always been happy, and never had a single problem with namecheap.
The Godday story is there to serve as a warning to others reading this post in the future!
