Those things are unfortunately what most people think of when they hear "TGP"
They aren't real tgps. Just scripted circle jerks. Useless.
Real tgp's are like me, or Pierre, or Patrick, or even Greenguys maze (lol)
And yeah, we can still make good money with them. My tpg's are my affiliate work. And it's down by about half of what it was a year ago...but still making me 20 grand a month.
But my shit is all done by hand and I work many hours EVERY day on my tgps.
You get out of your work what you put in, and those thousands of scripted circle jerk "tgp's" are an embarrassment to guys like me.-Robbie

it's difficult to surf tgp/mgp sites these days for 2 reasons
1. crazy skim
2. tubes offer a search feature, a huge benefit over daily checking in bookmarked tgp/mgp, seeing if any new updates fit the criteria and hoping a clik through doesn't send you on a circle jerk or to an attack site.
i see robbie's point but the fact is that tgp/mgp sites are dominated by sites that skim big time.Comment

It all depends on what kind of "TGP", where you get traffic from and how you treat it. Porn surfers figure out very fast, that a TGP with nothing but thumbs to FHGs only, is a bad sign. Usually just skim. Then traffic quality will suck.
With a portal of good paysites and not pissing the surfers off, you will likely make money off the portal. And if you guide them to great paysites, you will likely get bookmarkers who sign up to other paysites as well.
Personally, I think value the traffic quality, is more important than value the amount. A 10k "TGP" can easily make more money than a 100k one, if you treat surfers well. Additionally, if you are very selective about your content instead of thinking amount, you can easily make more than a 200k-300k TGP.
I think the same logic apply to whatever site you run, TGP/MGP/Tube.. in the end, it is not your PR or Alexa ranking that counts, but the size of your bank account.
