Also let's keep in mind that numbers communicated are PR, not official.
Mindgeek always insisted in communicating "we're n°1" "we have the biggest staff with over 1000 employees". But in reality N°1 is a contested prize with Xvideo/Xnxx, and over 1000 employees... I would say "close to 1000" was more the reality.
1600, no, that's a number to "make you look big". But actually, it's silly because everyone thinks "what do you do with so many people??? Shouldn't you be a much bigger company to have that many people???"
Mindgeek's competitors are companies that run correctly with 100 to 300 people... more than that is overhead, corporate politics, inefficency.
So... maybe it's really a smart move to restructure the company and keep the most important people in the team on the most profitable projects?
Also... maybe depending on the new CEO appointed maybe they can start cleaning their practices and re-open conversations with Visa/MC?
In any case to those who believe that Mindgeek is going down, or that tube business models is going down... you're just not living on the right planet. MindGeek is a big machine and it will live on, maybe not as big and as high as what its creators were hoping but it's going to be around for long.
And tube sites... they're here to stay. Now, it would be great for the industry if they could see the crucifiction of Mindgeek as a real threat and would also clean their practices not to be next... which would really be a very positive thing for the industry.
Ultimately, we would all benefit of an industry that has clear rules, guidelines, and can exist within these frames on the long run.
Anyway, so far, people I know in Mindgeek are still there... let's see.
