I just wanted to take a moment to say hi to all and to introduce myself. I used be a school teacher but got sick of the bullshit rules and brainwashing. I have always wanted to be a part of the adult business and almost did a few years ago before being pulled into film school and then teaching.

My first project will be running a completely LEGAL tube site. I have signed up with some great sponsors already and am always looking for more. Major thanks to the author of TubeAce for such an awesome and simple script.

I appreciate any advice anyone can give regardless of how long they have been in this business. I just want to learn as much as I can and have a lot of fun while hopefully making money in the process.

Don't be afraid to diversify if it's going poorly after a few months.

I started out doing work as an affiliate and writing my own software to make my life easier. I did great for the content, updates, and support - but missed the mark as a salesman; I never really defined a decent hook to get people to come back.

I ended up going back to my strengths - administration. Now I manage programs and occasionally write tools for them.

I totally get what you mean. I am probably best suited behind the camera and will (hopefully) end up back there one day soon. The whole reason I started this tube site was so I can make enough $$$ to grab me a Pana HMC150 that allows me to supply the content which is I really shine. Sales..not so much LOL.

if you're that confident in your abilities at content, try hitting up a few programs and doing a deal for hardware to get you off the ground.

What kind of genres do you do? I might be able to hook you up with some programs to discuss the possibility. Of course, it'd help if you had anything you had done available, even if not HD.

My experience in shooting adult is very limited as much of the content I have shot has been mainstream for local artists/companies/etc... I did shoot some custom content after I left teaching in the summer of 2008 but did not transition to full time adult until I was certain that budget cuts would prevent education from recovering for a few years. It was either waste a Masters degree in Education by subbing for $60 a shot or go back to a career in video and mainstream is hard enough if you are not well known or established.

I'd love to find an adult company that would float the bill for an HMC150 for X number of scenes but with a bad economy, and limited experience in adult, it would be a tough sell/investment for any company.

Can i suggest, in order to make your tube stand out from the crowd, that you focus on a niche. Most tubes cover all categories but dont really specialize. another tube that offers generic porn won't be able to fight on the big boys turf. just IMO. GL.

I love to do that but have no idea what niche I want to focus on. Naturally I want to focus on what will sell but I am definitely open to suggestions for certain niche to focus on. Thank you for the advice.
